What a skeptical developer should ask an AI testing tool

·1 min read

A passing demo is the easy part of evaluating an AI testing tool. The useful questions start when the application changes.

Try three cases on the same user flow: a normal pass, a harmless layout change and an intentional product failure. Keep the expected outcome fixed. Can you see what the test did? Does the product failure stay a failure? Can you inspect why a replacement target was accepted?

Those questions expose more than a claim about how intelligent an agent is. They show whether your team can understand and maintain the resulting suite.

In Zerocheck, healing history records the previous target, replacement, reason and validation state. A heal is saved only after the unchanged test passes with independent evidence. Missing evidence leaves the repair pending; a failed test does not turn the failed outcome into a pass.

Your team still needs to write a meaningful expectation. “The page looks right” is much harder to review than a specific visible value or URL.
