# How to add AI browser testing to an existing suite

Start alongside the tests you trust. Evaluate a selected flow before changing ownership or replacing existing coverage.

## Why it is hard

- A migration can accidentally remove assertions.
- Different fixtures make comparisons misleading.
- Teams may underestimate ongoing requirement maintenance.

## Plan the test around an observable outcome

1. Choose a useful existing flow or a repeated manual gap.
2. Record its setup and expected outcomes.
3. Run both workflows with equivalent data.
4. Compare failure investigation and maintenance after a UI change.

## Where Zerocheck fits

1. Describe the flow in the web app and inspect the drafted steps.
2. Save the test after reviewing its actual result.
3. Download YAML for the optional repository workflow.
4. Keep unsupported API, email, mobile and cross-browser coverage in existing tools.

## Choose an adoption boundary

A sensible boundary might be the handful of browser flows your team still checks manually. Keep the existing framework for tests that already provide reliable signal. This produces evidence for or against adoption without turning the evaluation into a suite rewrite.

## Preserve ownership explicitly

Web-managed tests are edited in Zerocheck. Repository-managed tests are edited in your repository and shown read-only in the web app. Downloading a test creates an independent YAML copy; there is no automatic two-way repository sync.

## Pitfalls

- Do not assume framework code imports automatically.
- Do not remove old assertions before reviewing the replacement.
- Do not equate a larger test count with more coverage.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can Zerocheck convert our existing test code?

No. It drafts browser steps from descriptions or checklists. Evaluate it alongside the existing suite.

### Do downloaded tests stay synced to the web editor?

No. A per-test download is an independent copy. Decide whether the web app or your repository owns that test.
